Our August meeting was aimed at taking care of business for our new league year. Three guests were in attendance, and we officially welcomed three new members. Our league installed its new Board Members for the new year and we had a fun time discussing our favorite Amazon finds.

Our July meeting featured a dynamic presentation from our own Beth Ann Riecke who taught us some extremely practical tips on networking in 2021.

Our July meeting featured guest speaker Christie Browning who spoke on managing your time for success. She utilized golf balls, tennis balls and eggs to teach us the difference in our obligations. Our President Elect Leigh Roberson got in on the action by agreeing to volunteer for the visual demonstration. This month’s meal sponsor was Revision Motivational Company, owned by our speaker Christie Browning.

As part of our June meeting, we celebrated long-time ABWA member Michelle Crone. As of June 27th, Michelle will have been an ABWA member of 25 years. That is an accomplishment in and of itself and worth celebrating. But Michelle’s involvement with ABWA isn’t just the longevity of her membership, but the many, many leadership positions she’s held, the committees she’s served on, the numerous ways she’s volunteered over the years and countless hours Michelle has given ABWA.

May’s meeting held a lot of business for our league. After elections, we learned about growing our businesses from a panel of area leaders.

It’s no shocker that in a woman’s purse are many treasures. But it’s very seldom that having all that ‘stuff’ on hand wins you some fabulous prizes. In our April meeting… that’s what happened! We played a great networking game and our board members had the chance to introduce their positions and responsibilities in preparation for next month’s election.

Jaime Wilsey-Heckman gave us some how-tos to better our financial lives and offered some tips to help us make better choices with our investments. We also got to celebrate our Woman of The Year, Cheryl Schmandt. This is a great honor and well deserved.

We welcomed Malorie Gasper and Lindsey Elizabeth to our group and enjoyed a presentation from Marilyn Lash… a woman whose ABWA reputation sets a high standard for us all. Marilyn shared her experiences as a previous district leader, National Top 10, and many other recognitions and awards she’s earned as an ABWA member.

In true new-year fashion, our January meeting featured a session on goal setting from Kelly Ambriole. From setting goals to getting clear on what we want most this year, Kelly encouraged us all to ‘get a goal.’ In addition to networking, we welcomed Oksana Ireland as a new member.

Each year we host a fun gift exchange as part of our meeting in December. However, with COVID, we had to get a bit creative… and creative we did! Our gift exchange included a fun get-to-know-you game that led to ladies picking a gift off the gift table and unveil fabulous goodies.

When it comes to business, preparing for all options is always a challenge. This month, Heather Lytle gave us an education on what procedures and policies might need to be added to our business practices.

Each year we have the opportunity to award a deserving college student a scholarship. This year we were honored to award Lara Miller our scholarship to aid in her tuition to Ivy Tech Community College where she is pursuing nursing. Our meeting also included a very interactive lesson from Leslee Hill about helping us manage stress and sleep better!

After several long months of virtual meetings, we finally returned to in-person meetings with specific COVID protocols and precautions. However, we were glad to be among our sisterhood just in time for elections. The election process supplied the 2020-2021 board

This month’s meeting gave us the chance to recognize some women who were up for Woman of the Year. We also named our Woman of the Year and celebrated several member milestones. Our meeting highlight was an active networking activity that allowed us all to connect.

Our February Meeting featured a roundtable discussion with our existing board members in preparation for our upcoming board member election.

Our December meeting was marked by a fun Christmas celebration gift exchange that resulted in a lot of laughs and even more fun!
