A presentation to remember

Our October meeting featured Adrienne Maurer (pictured right) who gave us all some helpful tips and suggestions for bettering our presentation skills. Our meal sponsor was Kristy Owens & HollieBoznak with USA Insulation (pictured far right).

Adrienne has years of experience as a speaker, trained through the nationwide organization called Toastmasters. She challenged us all to think about our next presentation and how we could include elements such as attention-grabbing openings, key points, stories, and a call to action. Kristy Owens, our meal sponsor, shared with the group the ins and outs that make USA Insulation a leader in the marketplace. She explained their unique approach to insulation in existing structures as well as the features that set them apart from other insulation options. President Dianne Rybicki drew our ABW Day winner which was Kristy Owens. Kristy joined several other members in a digital campaign to celebrate ABW Day in September by wearing read and posting their selfies on social media. Kristy won a prize pack of pampering goodies from bath salts to facial masks and more!

Our October meeting hosted six guests in attendance. Our ice breaker activity was a group conversation about what might be good ideas for speaking topics, members that we'd like to see be part of the group, and connections that would serve us in our careers or businesses.

In the meeting, we voted in our Standing Rules. These rules were previously voted into effect at our August meeting but a few items needed to be added. These additional rules involve the approval and publication of league meeting minutes, board meeting minutes, and financial statements. Please visit Community Connections or click here to review these updated Standing Rules.
