Social Media Misshaps
Our April meeting featured a panel led discussion surrounding social media practices for business. Sarah Arnold, owner of Socially Seasoned (pictured right); Britney Breidenstein, from UpLinked (pictured center); and Christie Browning, owner of Content By Request (pictured left) offered tips and how-tos to make the most of social media to grow and market businesses.
Leigh Roberson, also known as The Gadget Girl, was this month's meal sponsor. She took the time to share about a project she's been working on to benefit Habitat for Humanity where she repurposed an older piece of furniture into a fresh design that fits in any home.
In addition, Leigh was celebrated for 10 years of ABWA membership. She was presented with balloons, gifts and a lot of love and applause. Congrats, Leigh for this milestone and here's to many more years in ABWA.
More than 15 guests were in attendance at the April meeting and we saw four guests submit applications for membership. We look forward to officially welcome these new members in a future meeting. Cheryl Schmandt was officially nominated as a Top 10 candidate. Michelle Crone made the motion to accept. Leigh Roberson seconded the motion. It carried without opposition.
Women of Magnitude who attended our recent Regional Conference offered some take-aways from the sessions they participated. Cheryl said she enjoyed the Top 10 speeches and presentations. She learned a lot about their individual journeys and found their stories to be exciting and inspirational.
Shirley New applauded Cheryl's DVP candidate speech and celebrated her ability to keep her speech under time and the answer she gave.
Michelle Crone appreciated the comradery that was had between ABWA sisters during breaks and during lunch. The conference was held virtually, but during the breaks the video call was left open for participants to interact live.
Leigh learned about how mental and physical health went together. Her favorite session taught her more about resources and ideas to better balance health for the whole woman.
