Speed networking fun

Our June meeting featured a fun speed networking activity where those who attended got to take time to network with others. Separated by different candy bars, those that had the same candy bar got to meet up and get to know each other more. We mixed up a few different times for three networking rounds and lots of conversation. Plus we all got to eat our candy bars when it was all over.

Thanks to our meal sponsor, Christie Browning, owner of Content By Request. Did you know Christie's company has earned several awards and offers full-service marketing support, coaching and consultation for online, in print and in person marketing needs?

The league ran a membership campaign contest based on a point system for inviting guests, guest attendance and guest joining. During the campaign, the league had five new members join, two of which were recruited by member Holly Ripke who was recognized as the lead winner for the campaign contest.

League participation at the Indianapolis 500 generated more than $1,400. A special thanks was extended to Cheryl Schmandt and Jaime Wilsey-Heckman who manned the booth for the league. Appreciation was also offered to the Raintree Chapter for letting the league be involved and to Michelle Crone for coordinating travel arrangements.

Congratulations to Cheryl Schmandt for being named as our league's nominee for the Cardinal Crossroads Council Woman of the Year. Cheryl shared a bit about her District V Vice President campaign. So far she said the experience as been an "awesome leadership journey," and she's enjoyed getting to meet people throughout District V.
