President Dianne Rybicki officially welcomed two new members - Holly Ripke and Jessica Ryan. Holly is an Attorney at Ripke Law. Jessica is a Professional Mental Health Trainer and Community Advocate with Mental Health America of Northeast Indiana. Welcome to our league, ladies!
Not only did our November meeting feature two new members, we also hosted six guests in addition to our speaker. It was a full house! Keeping with the theme of the month, those in attendance shared what they are thankful for while introducing themselves to the group.
The group also presented a $200 check to Michelle Crone to benefit the Indiana Dream Center. This money was collected in memory of Michelle's late husband, Mike. It was an honor to get to support this nonprofit in such a heartfelt way.
During the meeting, members who attended the National Leadership Conference earlier in the month shared some of their favorite takeaways. Cheryl Schmandt who attended for the first time said she walked away feeling "inspired and empowered." Leigh Roberson attended a breakout session all about how to detect deception which she found "fascinating." Shirley New enjoyed hearing the Top 10 Speeches from ABWA women. Michelle Crone had a unique perspective as the conference co-lead and appreciated the new virtual, digital voting process.
As part of the conference, voting took place to put in place leadership both nationally and for each district. Our former District Vice President Cheryl Blair was voted in as the Secretary-Treasurer. Voted in as our new District V Vice President is Gail Frahm.
